Digital & Social Media Program Overview

Digital and social media are not just marketing tools, they have become essential components of many departments within organizations including Public Relations, Human Resources, Customer Service, Competitive Intelligence and more.  Today, the most successful organizations do not have a social media department, but rather have become a 'social organization'.

Since 2010, over 1200 participants have completed almost 7500 modules at locations throughout North America.  Our newly redesigned program has an intensified focus on strategy and tactics, and on helping organizations discover how to use digital and social media to enhance their goals and objectives.

The Digital & Social Media Program is designed to assist organizations and individuals with capitalizing on the meteoric rise of 'digital'; regardless of industry.  Ensuring that there is a correct complement of traditional marketing channels with digital alternatives provides the most efficient and effective marketing mix.

Whether a government organization, a non-profit entity, or a for profit business, there is a growing role for digital media.  Providing opportunities for greater reach, increased connectivity, better monitoring, and increased return-on-investment, digital channels are being chosen over traditional alternatives at an increasing rate.

It have been just a little more than a decade since the first Facebook account was created.  In that short time, social networks have revolutionized almost every aspect of our daily professional and personal lives.  Networks like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat and others have transformed the way we communicate.  But, despite this meteoric growth, organizations and individuals still have many questions that they are looking for answers to.  How can social networks best be put to use?  What's the best way to engage with audiences that have just recently been given a voice?  Is a specific network a good fit for your organization?  Are social strategies really working?  These are just a few of the questions that the training offered by the Digital & Social Media Program will help you answer.

The Digital & Social Media Program is composed of '3 Core' six-module seminars.
The Digital & Social Media Strategy and Tactics Seminar focuses on understanding organizational requirements and guiding the development or refinement of your strategic, tactical and audit plans which the participants can implement in the organization.  Through a detailed overview of a wide range of the most important current and emerging digital and social media channels, you will be able to identify channels and techniques that will enhance your online presence.
The Digital & Social Media Communication, Engagement and Advertising Seminar focuses on ensuring that participants are able to engage their audience.  Participants will learn how to improve the perception of digital deployments, and how to use both free and paid digital advertising opportunities to communicate messages effectively to a selected target audience.  A number of channels are explored in conjunction with the individual organizations strategy and target audience, to determine which channels and techniques should be used to optimize communication and provide the highest return-on-investment.
The Digital & Social Media Metrics, Measurement and Analytics Seminar focuses on providing participants with the knowledge and skills to allow them to evaluate their organization's digital and social media deployments.  This seminar is designed to ensure that organizations are measuring the correct items; using the appropriate free and paid tools to provide the actionable information needed, and that the appropriate individuals in the organization have access to and the capability to act on the data.
The newly launched DSMP Online has three levels of training courses available to support the core training offerings.
DSMP Online Introductory courses include free channel optimization courses, free 'Beginners Guide to ...' courses, and a range of 'Introduction to Digital and Social Media for ...' courses for a wide range of industries and occupations.
DSMP Online Enhancement courses provide more details on specific digital and social media channels and tools.
DSMP Online Advanced/Specialized courses are provided to go in-depth on specific channels and tools and can assist with certification such as Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Bing Ads, etc.
